How to Connect Slack to OpenClaw Cloud

What You Can Do

• Summarize long threads with a single command

Setup Steps

Step 1: Create a Slack App

1. Go to api.slack.com/apps
2. Click Create New App
3. Choose From scratch
4. Name it "OpenClaw" and select your workspace

Step 2: Configure OAuth & Permissions

1. In the sidebar, click OAuth & Permissions
2. Under Scopes, add these Bot Token Scopes:
   • app_mentions:read
   • channels:history
   • chat:write
   • im:history
   • im:write
   • users:read
3. Click Install to Workspace
4. Copy the Bot User OAuth Token (starts with xoxb-)

Step 3: Enable Event Subscriptions

1. Go to Event Subscriptions in the sidebar
2. Toggle it On
3. Enter your OpenClaw webhook URL (found in your Cloud dashboard)
4. Under Subscribe to bot events, add:
   • app_mention
   • message.im
5. Save changes

Step 4: Add to OpenClaw Cloud

1. Log into your OpenClaw Cloud dashboard
2. Go to Channels → Slack
3. Paste your Bot Token
4. Add your Signing Secret (found in Basic Information)
5. Click Connect

Step 5: Invite to Channels

In any Slack channel where you want OpenClaw to respond, type:

/invite @OpenClaw

Usage Examples

Direct Messages

Just DM the OpenClaw bot like you would any colleague:

You: What's on my calendar today?
OpenClaw: You have 3 meetings scheduled...

Channel Mentions

Mention @OpenClaw in any channel:

@OpenClaw can you summarize this thread?

Thread Summaries

Reply in a thread with:

@OpenClaw tldr
